When youth become passionate about something healthy, unhealthy behaviors reduce.
Boxing has always taught fundamental skills like resiliency, work ethic, regulating emotions + more. At West City Boxing we teach proper, olympic style boxing and combine the sport with ‘best practice’ youth development from experienced, qualified youth-workers/coaches.

West City Sports Academy exists for those young people in our community who have had a rough start to life. We are not about finding issues to fix, but rather finding the gold that exists within every young person that is unique to them. We simply help that gold become the main narrative in their life. We believe when healthy behaviours grow, unhealthy behaviours reduce. We use the sport of boxing to facilitate healthy behaviours to grow along-side best practice youth development. We use two models of practice. Te Whare Tapa Wha and Circle Of Mana to ensure young people and their whanau are getting the best experience from us. Our Coach / Mentors are committed to walking alongside the young person and their whanau throughout their adolescent years.
West City Sports Academy Mentoring Service is a referral only service and must be referred through Oranga Tamariki.
